Qatar Society of Engineers Launches Qatar Architecture Award 2026

The Qatar Society of Engineers has launched the first edition of the Qatar Architecture Award 2026, a national platform aimed at promoting architectural excellence, innovation and local talent.

This year's theme is designing a residential villa that meets the modern needs of the Qatari family, based on current building requirements and practical, sustainable and cost-efficient solutions.

The competition is open to two categories: individual Qatari citizens and residents who are architects, engineers or designers, and officially licensed Qatari architectural consultancy offices.

The award offers total prize money of QAR 180,000. Outstanding designs will be published and displayed during Qatar Engineer's Day on January 25, 2027, with the possibility of further development in cooperation with relevant authorities.

Applications will remain open until early January 2027. Entries will be assessed by an independent panel of academic and professional experts under a governance framework designed to ensure fairness and transparency.
