Qatar Women Fall 3-0 to Iraq at West Asia Volleyball Championship

Qatar's women's volleyball team suffered a 3-0 defeat to Iraq in the second round of the West Asia Volleyball Championship in Amman.

Iraq won the three sets 25-13, 25-18 and 25-21 to record their first victory of the tournament. Qatar, meanwhile, remain without a win after also losing 3-0 to hosts Jordan in their opening match.

The tournament features Qatar, Jordan, Iraq and Lebanon and is being played in a single round-robin format, with each team facing the other three once. The team with the best overall results will be crowned champion and secure direct qualification for the 2027 Asian Women's Volleyball Championship.

Qatar will conclude their campaign against Lebanon on Monday, September 7, at 4:00 PM. The 12-player squad is led by Argentine coach Lucas Carolo.
