EAA and Qatar Foundation launch skills initiative for Assalam Schools students

The Education Above All Foundation, in collaboration with Qatar Foundation (QF) Alumni Relations Department, has launched a new initiative titled "Skills for Good", with the aim of equipping students with future skills and connecting them with practical experiences and the requirements of the labor market.

In a statement today, the Foundation explained that the initiative, which is led by volunteers, aims to connect its students with Qatar Foundation alumni and professionals in various fields, allowing them to benefit from practical skills, professional experience, and knowledge derived from practical realities.

The initiative includes one-hour interactive sessions with Qatar Foundation alumni and staff, as well as EAA youth staff, volunteers and advocates.

These sessions include skills development workshops, leadership lectures, and specialized sessions to introduce students to various fields and help them define their future aspirations.

The initiative also focuses on a number of key areas, including communication skills, problem-solving, financial literacy, digital skills, leadership, and job market readiness, which boosts students' self-confidence and opens up wider horizons for educational and professional opportunities.

In this context, Ms. Sarah Kishish, Senior Project Development Officer at Education Above All, stressed that the initiative seeks to transfer practical experiences directly to the classroom, noting that connecting students with professionals gives them an opportunity to acquire useful skills and explore diverse career paths with confidence and efficiency.

For her part, Ms. Asma Al-Kuwari, Director of Alumni Relations at Qatar Foundation, said that the initiative provides a meaningful platform for QF alumni to give back to the community by passing on their experiences and inspiring the next generation, stressing that this collaboration fosters a culture of volunteering and giving and contributes to achieving a sustainable impact.

It is worth mentioning that the "Skills for Good" initiative is implemented in "Peace Schools" and targets students from the primary stage to the secondary stage, and relies on volunteers allocating one hour to share their skills and experiences, while adapting the content to suit different age groups and the needs of the participants.
