Google launches Gemini 4 Carbon with major cybersecurity upgrades

Google has announced the launch of its new artificial intelligence (AI) model Gemini 4 Carbon, with improvements in programming, execution of complex tasks, and cybersecurity.

Google said the new model tops the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index in its fifth edition, and comes as a successor to the Argon model launched by the company earlier this October.

The company explained that the model makes a big leap in the field of cybersecurity, thanks to its ability to detect security vulnerabilities in software and write more secure software code.

The model topped the SEC-bench Pro, which measures the ability of AI models to detect real bugs and vulnerabilities in software, as well as the ExploitGym test, which measures their ability to turn discovered vulnerabilities into practical exploits.

Gemini 4 Carbon is currently available to a limited range of companies specializing in cybersecurity, and Google will later expand its availability to include additional partners.
