Mekdam Holding Group and Armada AI partner on mobile AI data centres for Qatar

Qatar-based Mekdam Holding Group has signed a partnership agreement with US technology company Armada AI to explore advanced mobile AI data-centre solutions for defence and security applications in Qatar and the wider Gulf region.

The agreement was announced during Milipol Qatar 2026, which is taking place at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center from October 20 to 22.

Speaking during the exhibition, Mekdam Group General Manager Baraa Sami said the partnership brings together Mekdam’s engineering, technology and systems-integration capabilities with Armada’s expertise in mobile and edge data-centre infrastructure.

What will the partnership focus on?

According to Mr. Baraa Sami, the two companies will initially explore opportunities across the Qatari market, followed by the wider GCC, particularly for defence and security applications.

The technology is designed to provide computing and AI capability through data-centre infrastructure that can be deployed or relocated much more quickly than a conventional fixed facility.

This could be relevant for environments where organisations need computing power close to where data is being generated, particularly in remote, rapidly changing or security-sensitive locations.

Milipol as a platform for the partnership

Mr. Baraa Sami described Milipol Qatar as an important platform for bringing together potential technology and security partners.

The 16th edition of Milipol Qatar features more than 270 local and international exhibitors and is being held alongside the Doha International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Security.

The exhibition focuses on homeland security, cybersecurity, critical infrastructure and emerging security technologies.

Expansion beyond Qatar

Mekdam said the immediate focus will be identifying opportunities in Qatar before exploring the broader Gulf market.

Mr. Baraa Sami said the collaboration is part of the company’s ambition to strengthen its position in advanced defence and security technology and contribute to the development of regional capabilities.

At this stage, the companies have not announced specific project values, deployment timelines or customers connected to the partnership.
