MOI confirms child injured by falling shrapnel following Iranian attack

Qatar’s Ministry of Interior has confirmed that one child was injured by falling shrapnel resulting from interception operations following an Iranian attack that targeted the country on Friday morning.

According to an official press release, security authorities and Civil Defence teams immediately initiated their procedures in line with approved emergency response plans.

The Ministry said the injury was confirmed based on reports received from the ground and findings gathered by teams operating at the scene. The child is currently receiving the necessary medical care.

The Ministry of Interior stated that competent security authorities continue to work around the clock with full readiness.

Their ongoing operations are focused on ensuring a rapid response, protecting the safety and security of the community and maintaining the normal flow of essential services across the country.

No disruption to public services was reported in the Ministry’s statement.

The Ministry also issued a firm warning against circulating rumours or publishing unverified information, photographs and video clips related to the incident.

Residents and members of the public have been instructed to obtain updates exclusively from official government sources.

The Ministry stressed that sharing false or unverified material could result in legal accountability, particularly when such content risks creating confusion or undermining public safety during an emergency.

Authorities said they will continue monitoring developments on the ground and implementing the necessary security and emergency response measures.
