Qatar Supports Senegal’s Preparations to Host Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games

The State of Qatar, represented by the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, provided 15 buses and security equipment to the Republic of Senegal in support of its preparations to host the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games, which will take place from October 31 to November 13.

A ceremony to hand over the Qatari support was held today in the Senegalese capital, Dakar, in the presence of representatives from the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy and members of the local Organising Committee for the Youth Olympic Games.

In a statement, the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy said the contribution forms part of the close cooperation between the two countries and supports Senegal’s preparations to host this historic sporting event, which will be staged on the African continent for the first time.

The Committee noted that the initiative is part of the State of Qatar’s efforts to strengthen international sports cooperation and share its expertise and capabilities in organizing and hosting major sporting events. This particularly includes the experience gained from organizing the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™, contributing to the organizational and operational readiness of host countries.
