Qatar wins bronze at World Parachuting Championships in Slovakia

Qatar has secured a bronze medal at the 39th World Parachuting Championships, after national team skydiver Abdulaziz Al-Hajjaji finished third in the Senior individual competition.

The championship was held in Spišská Nová Ves, Slovakia, from August 29 to September 4, under the supervision of the International Air Sports Federation (FAI) and the International Skydiving Committee (ISC).

A total of 132 competitors representing 28 countries took part in the Senior individual events.

Qatar reaches the podium

Al-Hajjaji’s third-place finish gave the Qatari skydiving team a bronze medal at one of the sport’s major international championships.

The competition included events in accuracy landing and style during free fall, testing athletes on both precision and technical performance.

The championship was held alongside the 13th World Junior Championship, bringing together skydivers from around the world.

Strong international competition

Major General Mohammed bin Zayed Al Otaibi, Commander of the Special Forces and Chairman of the Qatar Air Sports Committee, described the result as an important achievement for the national team.

He said the medal reflected the team’s continued preparation and work ahead of major international competitions.

Hazza bin Hamad Al-Attiyah, Secretary General of the Qatar Air Sports Committee, also praised the result, highlighting the high level of competition and the significance of reaching the podium at a world championship.

Al-Hajjaji celebrates bronze medal

Abdulaziz Al-Hajjaji said he was pleased to secure the bronze medal for Qatar, adding that the team competed with a shared goal of challenging for top positions and delivering its best performance.

The result adds another international achievement for Qatar’s air sports programme and strengthens the national team’s presence in global skydiving competitions.
