Qatari Camel Al-Farkiya Wins Jadh’ah Cup At Saudi Crown Prince Camel Festival

Qatari camel Al-Farkiya won the Jadh’ah Cup in the open female Jadh’ah category at the eighth Saudi Crown Prince Camel Festival in Taif on Thursday, September 10.

Organised by the Saudi Camel Federation, the 2026 festival is running at the Taif Camel Racing Track until September 13, with total prize money exceeding SAR 50 million.

Al-Farkiya, owned by Nasser bin Abdullah bin Ahmed Al-Misnad, finished first in the main open female Jadh’ah race over 5 kilometres, recording 7:30.71, the fastest time in the race. The camel was guided by handler Mahmoud bin Salem Al-Wahibi.

The eighth day of the festival, which marked the conclusion of the Jadh’ah competitions, featured 23 races, including 15 general races, four open races and four Crown Prince Camel Festival Cup races, with 652 camels taking part.

The victory gave Al-Misnad his first title of the current season and added to Qatar’s strong record in camel racing competitions outside the country.
