The Qatar Cultural Center for the Blind organised a summer camp for its female members in an interactive environment combining learning and recreation.
The camp aimed to strengthen participants’ self-confidence, develop their personal and life skills, and highlight talents and abilities that may not previously have had an opportunity to emerge.
Coach Hiba Al Abdullah led a discussion session on self-awareness, identifying personal strengths and building confidence. The session also explored how challenges and perceived weaknesses could be turned into opportunities for growth and development.
Al Abdullah encouraged participants to step outside their comfort zones and acquire new skills that could support their social, spiritual and physical development and help them work towards their goals.
The programme included a segment in which participants showcased their talents and creative abilities across several fields, reinforcing their confidence in their own capabilities.
It also featured a workshop offering participants an opportunity to express their ideas and creativity through interactive artistic and practical activities.
The camp formed part of the centre’s efforts to provide programmes that empower blind girls, strengthen their independence, develop their life and leadership skills, and promote cooperation, communication and mutual support.
An open day concluded with a ceremony honouring the participants and presenting them with certificates of participation.
