HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani, Chairman of Qatar Chamber, attended the opening of the second edition of MWC Doha 2026 on Sunday, 8 November, at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC).
The international telecommunications and technology event, which runs until 10 November, brings together global industry leaders, policymakers, experts and innovators to explore emerging technologies and developments shaping the digital economy.
Following the opening ceremony, Sheikh Khalifa toured the accompanying exhibition, where he reviewed the latest technological solutions, digital platforms and innovations presented by regional and international exhibitors.
In press statements, Sheikh Khalifa emphasised that Qatar's hosting of MWC Doha for the second consecutive year reflects the country's growing position on the global telecommunications and technology map. He said the event also demonstrates Qatar's success in attracting major international gatherings that bring together decision-makers, business leaders and investors from around the world.
He highlighted the conference's importance as a platform for exchanging expertise and exploring innovations that are shaping the digital economy. The event offers Qatari private sector companies opportunities to learn about emerging trends in technology, telecommunications and digital services, while establishing connections and exploring potential partnerships with participating international companies.
Sheikh Khalifa also reaffirmed Qatar Chamber's commitment to following global technological and economic developments and helping Qatari businesses benefit from the opportunities they create.
He stressed the importance of enabling local companies to adapt to changes in the international business environment and integrate digital solutions and modern technologies into their operations.
