Council of Ministers Secretariat strengthens cybersecurity with ISO certification

The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers has obtained the Information Security Management System (ISO/IEC 27001) certificate, in a step that reflects its commitment to applying international standards in information protection and strengthening corporate governance, in a way that supports work efficiency and consolidates trust in its digital environment.

This achievement comes within the framework of the General Secretariat's efforts to develop the information security system, by strengthening organizational and technical procedures, applying the necessary controls to reduce risks, and ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of data, in a way that supports business continuity.

On this occasion, Mrs. Al-Shaimaa Ahmed Al-Malki, Director of the Information Systems Department at the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, stressed that obtaining this certificate represents an important milestone in the development of the information security system at the General Secretariat, and embodies her keenness to improve the efficiency of the adopted systems and policies, according to an institutional methodology that keeps pace with the renewed requirements of cybersecurity.

She added that the Information Systems Department continues its efforts to raise the level of technical readiness, develop mechanisms to respond to cyber threats, in addition to spreading awareness of safe practices among employees, as the human element is a key partner in maintaining the security of the digital environment and supporting digital transformation.

ISO/IEC 27001 is an internationally accepted standard for information security management systems, which specifies the requirements for the establishment, application, maintenance and continuous improvement of these systems, based on risk assessment and treatment according to specific controls and procedures.

The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers continues its efforts to adopt modern technical solutions and develop its institutional performance, in a way that enhances the efficiency of operations and supports the transformation towards a safe and reliable digital environment that keeps pace with the requirements of technical development and the goals of digital transformation in the country.
