Driving Within 30 Metres of Shoreline Prohibited from Sealine to Khor Al Adaid

The Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) has announced a prohibition on driving vehicles within 30 metres of the shoreline along the beaches stretching from Sealine to Khor Al Adaid.

In an official announcement published on Friday, 23 October 2026, Lekhwiya said the measure was introduced through its Environmental Security Group in cooperation with the Department of Natural Reserves at the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change.

Under the restriction, drivers must maintain a distance of at least 30 metres from the shoreline along the specified coastal stretch. The measure aims to ensure the safety of beachgoers and protect the coastal environment.

Lekhwiya explained that the restriction forms part of implementing Law No. 19 of 2004 concerning the Protection of Wildlife and Natural Habitats. The legislation provides for prohibiting or restricting human activities that damage natural habitats or their ecological productivity.

Residents and visitors heading to Sealine and Khor Al Adaid are therefore required to observe the minimum 30-metre distance when driving near the shoreline along the affected beaches.
