Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has threatened to halt oil and gas exports from across the Middle East in response to the United States reimposing a naval blockade on Iranian ports.

“The export of oil and gas from the region will be either for everyone or for no one,” the IRGC said in a statement.

The warning came amid continued retaliatory strikes involving Iran and the United States across the Middle East, as both sides sought to assert control over the Strait of Hormuz.

The renewed escalation and disruption to shipping through the strategic waterway have raised concerns that the region could return to all-out war.

US President Donald Trump announced the return of the blockade on Monday and initially proposed imposing a 20 percent fee on ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

However, Trump withdrew the proposed fee hours before the blockade resumed, citing discussions and requests from Gulf allies.
