Qatar may continue to see local rain-cloud formation through the end of the week, according to the latest update from the Qatar Meteorology Department.
The department said local rain clouds may occasionally be accompanied by thunderstorms and strong downdraft winds in some areas.
Residents have been advised to remain vigilant, exercise caution, follow safety guidelines and monitor updates issued through official weather channels.
Local rain clouds possible this week
The Qatar Meteorology Department’s latest weather charts indicate continued conditions favourable for the development of local rain clouds through the end of the week.
The rainfall is expected to be localised, meaning conditions may vary considerably between different parts of the country.
Some cloud formations may develop into thunderstorms, with sudden strong downdraft winds possible in affected areas.
Rain possible this afternoon
Qatar’s daily weather forecast for Tuesday, November 3, also indicates a chance of local cloud formation during the afternoon, with some clouds potentially producing rain.
The forecast describes daytime conditions as relatively hot to hot, becoming milder at night.
Winds are expected to remain generally light to moderate outside any locally developing weather.
Residents advised to follow official updates
The Meteorology Department has urged the public to follow official forecasts as weather conditions can change rapidly when local convective clouds develop.
During thunderstorms, sudden strong winds can occur even in areas where rainfall is brief or highly localised.
Residents are therefore advised to exercise caution outdoors and monitor updates from Qatar Meteorology before making travel or outdoor plans.
