The Gulf Football Federation, in cooperation with the Local Organising Committee, announced that the second edition of the Gulf Cup for Veteran Players will be held in Qatar from October 30 to November 5.
The tournament will bring together leading football stars and legends from the eight Gulf federations, with 15 matches to be played at three stadiums: Grand Hamad Stadium, Hamad bin Khalifa Stadium and Saoud bin Abdulrahman Stadium.
The draw placed defending champions Iraq in Group A alongside Saudi Arabia, Oman and Kuwait. Group B includes hosts Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Yemen.
Tournament matches will consist of two halves of 20 minutes each, with an unlimited number of substitutions permitted.
If a knockout-stage match ends in a draw after 40 minutes, it will proceed directly to a penalty shootout to determine the winner.
The tournament will begin at Grand Hamad Stadium on October 30 with Qatar facing Bahrain, while the final will take place at Saoud bin Abdulrahman Stadium on November 5.
Matches of the Gulf Cup for Veteran Players Qatar 2026 will be played during the rest days of the GFF U-17 Gulf Cup 2026, which Qatar is hosting from October 16 to November 4, once again demonstrating the country's ability to host and organise multiple events simultaneously.
Qatar's football season also features several anticipated tournaments, foremost among them the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2026™, which will take place from November 19 to December 13 at the Competition Complex in Aspire Zone.
