The International Qatari Search and Rescue Group, affiliated with the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), has been awarded the “Heroes of Venezuela” medal in recognition of its humanitarian efforts during rescue and relief operations in Venezuela.
The medal was presented by Her Excellency Delcy Rodríguez, Acting President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, following the team’s participation in response efforts after the double earthquake that struck the country.
The recognition comes in appreciation of the Qatari team’s professionalism, rapid response and commitment to humanitarian duty during the disaster response.
The team’s efforts were praised as a strong example of international cooperation in confronting disasters, reducing their impact and supporting communities affected by emergencies.
The honour also reflects Qatar’s growing role in global humanitarian missions and international search and rescue operations.
